Possible Causes
Damaged or deformed door gasket, Door not closing fully due to overpacked shelves, Hinges misaligned, Warm humid air entering frequently
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Steps to reduce frost buildup:
- 1. Inspect door gasket: Check for tears, gaps, or hardened sections. Close the door on a sheet of paper at various points; if it pulls out easily, the seal is weak.
- 2. Clean gasket and mating surface: Wipe with warm soapy water to remove grease and debris that may prevent sealing.
- 3. Adjust door contents: Ensure baskets and tall items are not pushing against the door from inside.
- 4. Adjust hinges (if possible): On some Proline models, hinge screws can be loosened to realign the door. Adjust so the door sits square and seals evenly.
- 5. Replace gasket if damaged: Order a Proline-specific freezer door gasket, warm it gently to make it flexible, and fit it into the door channel, ensuring it seats fully all around.
