Possible Causes
Burnt-out LED or bulb, Faulty door switch or reed sensor, Broken wiring to light module, Failed light driver on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before working on the light or door switch.
- 1. Check bulb or LED module: Locate the interior light cover and remove it. Inspect the bulb or LED module for visible damage. Replace with the correct Severin part if burnt out.
- 2. Test door switch: If the light is controlled by a mechanical switch, press it manually and see if the light flickers. Test continuity with a multimeter; replace the switch if faulty.
- 3. For magnetic sensors: If a reed switch is used, test it with a magnet as described for F5. Replace if it does not change state.
- 4. Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the switch to the light and control board for breaks or loose connectors.
- 5. Control board: If the light and switch are good but still no illumination, the light driver circuit on the PCB may be defective and the board may need replacement.
