Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Corroded connectors, Damaged control panel PCB, Failed main control board communication circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing the control panel or top cover.

Steps:

  • Access control panel: On upright models, remove the screws securing the top/front control panel. Carefully pull it forward.
  • Inspect ribbon cable: Check the flat cable between the user interface and main control board. Look for kinks, cracks, or corrosion at the connectors.
  • Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable at both ends to clean the contacts.
  • Check for moisture damage: Look for signs of condensation or liquid spills on the control board. If present, the board may be damaged.
  • Replace faulty board: If reseating cables does not clear E11, replace the user interface board first. If the error persists, replace the main control board.
