Safety first: Unplug the freezer before accessing the control board.

• Power cycle: Unplug the unit for 10 minutes, then plug back in. Re-enter temperature settings and monitor for recurrence of E12.
• Check outlet and supply: Verify the freezer is on a dedicated, properly grounded outlet. Avoid extension cords or power strips.
• Inspect control board: Remove the control cover and inspect the board for burn marks, cracked solder joints, or swollen components. Ensure all connectors are fully seated.
• Surge protection: If power issues are common in your area, consider using a surge protector rated for appliances.
• Replace control board: If E12 recurs and visual inspection shows damage or no other cause is found, replace the main control board.
