Freezer shows E13; rapid beeping or lock icon, controls unresponsive

Safety first: Unplug the freezer if you need to remove the control panel.

• Check for control lock: Some Whirlpool freezers have a control lock feature. Press and hold the lock/unlock button for 3–5 seconds to toggle.
• Clean the panel: Wipe the touch surface with a soft, dry cloth. Remove any moisture or residue that could cause false touches.
• Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in to reset the touch controller.
• Inspect UI board: If still unresponsive, remove the control panel and inspect the UI board and overlay for cracks or corrosion. Replace the user interface assembly if damaged.
