Possible Causes
Strong door gasket seal, Rapid cooling of warm air causing vacuum, Check valve in drain or vent restricted
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No electrical work is required for this symptom.
- Wait a moment: It is normal for the door to be harder to open for a minute or two after closing as internal pressure equalizes. Wait 30–60 seconds and try again.
- Check gasket adhesion: Lightly coat the gasket with a thin film of food-grade silicone spray if it is sticking excessively to the cabinet.
- Inspect venting: Ensure any cabinet vent or drain check valve is not blocked, allowing air to equalize.
