Possible Causes
Leaking pump seals, Corroded primary heat exchanger, Loose compression fittings on flow/return, Faulty automatic air vent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and close the system isolation valves if possible. Beware of hot water.
- Identify source: Remove the front cover and use a torch to locate the exact source of the leak (pump, joints, heat exchanger, AAV).
- Tighten joints: Gently tighten any accessible compression fittings that are weeping, taking care not to overtighten.
- Check automatic air vent: If the AAV on top of the Baxi heat exchanger is leaking, cap it temporarily and plan for replacement.
- Professional repair: Pump replacement or heat exchanger replacement should be done by a heating engineer.
