Possible Causes
Failed circulation pump, Closed isolation valves on flow/return, Airlock in system, Blocked system filter or strainer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the system to cool before touching pipework.
- Check pump: With the furnace calling for heat, feel the Baxi circulation pump. It should vibrate and the pipes should gradually warm. If not, the pump may be seized or not powered.
- Verify valves: Ensure the flow and return isolation valves beneath the furnace are fully open (slot in line with pipe).
- Bleed air: Bleed radiators and any automatic air vents to remove trapped air that can stop circulation.
- Clean filter: If a Baxi magnetic filter or system strainer is fitted, isolate, remove, and clean out sludge and debris.
