Possible Causes

Faulty hall sensor in fan, Loose tachometer wire, Fan blades obstructed by debris, Control board PWM output fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the fan.

  • Access the combustion fan (supply or exhaust, depending on model) and clean any ash or dust from the impeller and housing.
  • Check the small feedback/tachometer wires from the fan to the control board for secure connections.
  • Spin the fan by hand to ensure it rotates freely.
  • Restore power and observe if the fan starts smoothly. If E14 appears as the fan ramps up or down, the internal sensor may be defective.

Fan assemblies with integrated speed sensors are usually replaced as a complete unit.
