Furnace shows gas valve error; no gas flow to burner despite ignition attempts

Safety: Turn off power and close the gas shutoff valve. Gas components must be handled with extreme caution.

• Visual inspection: Check the gas valve body for signs of overheating, corrosion, or physical damage. Ensure the manual shutoff lever on the valve is in the open position.
• Check electrical connector: Verify the multi-pin plug or spade connectors on the gas valve are fully seated and not corroded.
• Measure coil voltage: With a qualified person and proper meter, measure voltage at the valve during an ignition attempt. If the correct voltage is present but the valve does not open, the valve is likely defective.
• Do not disassemble valve: Never attempt to open or repair the gas valve internally. Replace the complete IVT gas valve assembly if it is faulty.

Gas valve testing and replacement should be performed by a licensed gas technician in accordance with local codes.
