Possible Causes
Thermostat not actually calling for heat, Gas valve manual shutoff closed, Ignition cable disconnected, Flame sensor wiring loose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and gas before internal inspection.
- Confirm call for heat: Check that the IVT control indicates a heat demand (heating symbol or status message).
- Verify gas valve position: Ensure the manual gas cock is open.
- Inspect ignition and sensor leads: Check that the high-voltage ignition cable and flame sensor wire are firmly connected to the ignition transformer/module and electrodes.
- Observe ignition sequence: Through the sight glass, watch for spark and gas flow. If there is no spark, the ignition module or transformer may be faulty.
