Possible Causes

Defective NTC temperature sensor on flow pipe, Broken sensor wiring harness, Corroded connector on Termet control board, Sensor out of range due to scaling

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and allow the unit to cool.

  • Locate the flow NTC sensor: On Termet hydronic furnaces, the flow sensor is usually clipped to the flow pipe or inserted into a sensor well near the heat exchanger outlet.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the two-wire harness from the NTC to the control board. Look for cuts, burns, or loose plugs. Reseat the connector.
  • Check sensor resistance (if you have a multimeter): Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with Termet’s NTC table (commonly around 10kΩ at 25°C, but verify in manual). Infinite or zero ohms indicates a bad sensor.
  • Clean sensor pocket: If the sensor is in a well, remove it and clean any scale or sludge from the pocket.

Replace the sensor if readings are out of spec. If a new sensor does not clear E06, the control board may be faulty and should be checked by a Termet technician.
