Possible Causes
Defective flue gas NTC sensor, Blocked flue causing high flue temperature, Loose sensor in flue collector, Wiring fault between sensor and Termet PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and gas. Flue gas issues can be dangerous.
- Inspect flue gas sensor: Locate the NTC sensor in the flue collector or on the flue outlet of the Termet furnace. Ensure it is firmly inserted and not hanging loose.
- Check wiring: Follow the sensor wires back to the control board. Look for damage or loose connectors.
- Check for flue blockage: Inspect the flue terminal outside and the internal flue path for obstructions or heavy soot. Clear any blockage.
- Reset and test: After reassembly, restore power and gas, then reset the unit. Monitor operation. If E08 reappears quickly, the sensor may be defective.
Professional service: Persistent E08 may indicate serious flue or combustion problems. Have a Termet technician perform a combustion analysis and verify flue design.
