Possible Causes
Seized circulation pump, Air lock in system, Blocked pump impeller, Faulty pump relay on Termet control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power. Water may be hot; use gloves.
- Check system pressure: Ensure the hydronic system is properly filled and bled. Low pressure or air can prevent flow.
- Free the pump shaft: Locate the circulation pump on the Termet hydraulic block. Remove the front screw cap (if provided) and gently turn the shaft with a screwdriver to free it.
- Listen for pump operation: Restore power and call for heat. Place a screwdriver on the pump body and your ear on the handle to listen for vibration. No sound may indicate a failed pump or relay.
- Clean strainers: If your system has a dirt separator or strainer near the furnace, isolate and clean it.
If E09 persists, the circulation pump or control board likely needs replacement by a qualified technician.
