Possible Causes
Cracked ignition electrode, Incorrect electrode gap, Damaged high-voltage ignition cable, Faulty ignition transformer on Termet control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and gas. High voltage is present at the ignition circuit.
- Inspect ignition electrode: Remove the burner cover and locate the ignition electrode. Check for cracks in the ceramic, worn tip, or heavy deposits. Clean with fine abrasive and alcohol.
- Check electrode gap: Measure the gap between the electrode tip and burner surface as specified in the Termet manual (often around 3–4 mm). Adjust carefully if needed.
- Inspect ignition cable: Follow the high-voltage cable from the electrode to the ignition transformer or PCB. Look for burn marks, cuts, or loose connections. Reseat the cable.
- Test ignition: Restore power and gas, then observe through the inspection window. If there is no spark at all, the ignition transformer or PCB may be defective.
Ignition transformer or PCB replacement should be performed by a qualified Termet technician.
