Possible Causes
Open or shorted flow temperature sensor, Faulty flue gas temperature sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Defective control input on WCM/W-FM
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the control panel or sensors.
Steps:
- Locate sensors: Identify the flow/boiler temperature sensor and flue gas sensor on the Weishaupt furnace or boiler. They are typically NTC probes inserted into wells or clipped to pipes.
- Visual inspection: Check that the sensor bodies are firmly seated and that cables are not pinched, cut, or burned.
- Connector check: At the WCM or W-FM control, gently unplug and replug the sensor connectors to ensure good contact.
- Resistance check (qualified persons): Measure sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to Weishaupt NTC tables. Replace any sensor that is open, shorted, or out of range.
After replacing a sensor, clear the error by cycling power or using the controller reset function.
