Possible Causes
Defective ignition transformer/ignition unit, Cracked or fouled ignition electrodes, Incorrect electrode gap or position, Damaged high-voltage leads
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power and fuel. High-voltage ignition components can cause electric shock.
Steps:
- Inspect electrodes: Remove ignition electrodes from the burner head. Clean off soot and deposits. Check for cracks in the ceramic insulators. Replace if damaged.
- Set electrode gap: Adjust the electrode spacing and projection according to the Weishaupt burner manual (typically a few millimeters apart and correctly positioned relative to the burner head).
- Check ignition cables: Inspect high-voltage leads for burn marks, cuts, or loose terminals. Replace any suspect cables.
- Ignition transformer: Ensure the ignition unit is firmly mounted and its connector is secure. If there is no spark during start-up (visible through inspection port, if safe), the transformer may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
