Possible Causes
Faulty modulating motor/actuator, Broken linkage between actuator and air damper/gas valve, Incorrect modulation signal from controller, Defective W-FM modulation output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before touching the actuator or linkage.
Steps:
- Observe actuator movement: During operation, watch the modulating motor on the Weishaupt burner. It should move smoothly between low and high fire positions.
- Check linkage: Inspect the mechanical linkage between the actuator, air damper, and gas valve. Tighten any loose set screws and ensure there is no binding.
- Reset controller: Power cycle the system or perform a controller reset to clear temporary modulation errors.
Calibration of the modulation curve and replacement of the actuator should be done by a Weishaupt technician.
