Weishaupt
Condensate drainage failure
Burner shuts down with indication of condensate fault (for condensing units)
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Blocked condensate trap, Frozen or kinked condensate hose, Faulty condensate level switch, Improper condensate drain slope
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power. Condensate is mildly acidic; wear gloves and eye protection.
Steps:
- Inspect trap: Locate the condensate trap on the furnace. Remove and clean it of sludge and debris. Refill with clean water before reinstalling.
- Check hose: Ensure the condensate hose is not kinked, frozen, or blocked. Clear any obstruction and verify proper downward slope to the drain.
- Level switch: If equipped with a condensate float or level switch, check that it moves freely and is not stuck by dirt.
After cleaning, restore power and test operation. Persistent faults may require switch replacement.
