Possible Causes

Failed motor encoder on Cardale DC motor, Broken or disconnected encoder wiring harness, Dirty or damaged encoder disc, Faulty travel sensor on chain/belt rail

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power before working near the motor or rail.

  • Inspect encoder wiring: Locate the small multi‑core cable from the motor to the control PCB. Ensure the plug is fully seated and the cable is not pinched or cut.
  • Check encoder disc: On some models, a slotted disc on the motor shaft passes through an optical sensor. Gently clean the disc and sensor with a soft brush; ensure the disc is not cracked or loose.
  • Check rail travel sensor: If your Cardale model uses a magnetic or reed switch along the rail, inspect for loose magnets or damaged sensor housings. Re‑secure or replace as needed.
  • Re‑learn travel: After cleaning and checking connections, perform a full travel learn cycle as per the manual so the controller recalibrates position.
  • Replace encoder or motor: If E10 persists and wiring is sound, replace the Cardale motor with encoder assembly or the separate encoder module if available.
