Possible Causes

Open circuit in wall button cable, Shorted wall button wiring to frame or earth, Faulty Cardale wall station / push button, Mis‑wired terminals at control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate mains power before handling low‑voltage wiring inside the opener.

  • Inspect wall button: Remove the wall station or push button from the wall. Check for broken terminals, corrosion, or loose screws. Tighten or replace as needed.
  • Test continuity: With power OFF, disconnect the two wall button wires at the opener. Use a multimeter to check continuity between the two wires while pressing the button. You should see near‑zero ohms when pressed. If not, the button or cable is faulty.
  • Check for shorts: Inspect the cable run for staples or screws piercing the insulation. Repair or replace damaged cable.
  • Temporary jumper test: At the opener, briefly bridge the wall button terminals with a small insulated wire. If the door operates normally, the opener is fine and the fault is in the wall control or wiring.
  • Replace wall station: If the cable tests good but the button does not show continuity, replace the Cardale wall control / push button.
