Possible Causes
Dry chain on FAAC chain-drive rail, Loose rail mounting hardware, Worn sprocket or idler pulley, Loose motor mounting bolts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before tightening hardware or applying lubricant.
- Tighten hardware: Check all rail brackets, header bracket, and opener mounting bolts. Tighten any loose fasteners.
- Lubricate chain: Apply a light garage door chain lubricant to the FAAC drive chain. Wipe off excess to avoid dripping.
- Inspect sprockets and pulleys: Look for sharp, worn teeth on sprockets or wobbling idler pulleys. Replace worn components.
- Check door hardware: Lubricate hinges and metal rollers with a silicone or lithium-based spray (avoid tracks themselves).
Do not use heavy grease on the rail; it attracts dirt and can cause binding.
