Possible Causes
Stuck wall button, Shorted control wiring, Radio interference triggering FAAC receiver, Remote button pressed in vehicle or pocket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disable the opener by unplugging it if the door is moving unpredictably.
- Check wall controls: Inspect the wall button for stuck or damaged switches. Disconnect it from the FAAC board and observe if the problem stops.
- Inspect wiring: Look for crushed or water-damaged low-voltage cables that could short the control input.
- Clear remotes: Remove batteries from all remotes temporarily. If the issue stops, reintroduce remotes one by one to find a stuck button.
- Reprogram receiver: Erase all remote codes from the FAAC receiver and reprogram only known remotes. Consider changing the radio frequency module if interference is suspected.
If unintended movement continues, leave the opener disconnected and contact a professional; this is a significant safety hazard.
