Possible Causes
Open limit set too far, Faulty limit switch sticking, Encoder miscount at open position, External timer or control sending close command
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Stand clear of the door path during testing.
- Check open limit: Adjust the open limit slightly so the door stops a bit earlier, ensuring the trolley does not hit the stop bolt.
- Inspect limit switch: Verify that the open limit switch actuates cleanly and releases when the door moves away. Replace if sticking.
- Disconnect external controls: Temporarily remove any building automation or timer connections that might be issuing automatic close commands.
- Reprogram travel: Perform a full travel learning cycle on the FAAC opener to reset open and close positions.
If the behavior persists, the control logic may be faulty and the board should be evaluated.
