Possible Causes
Failed integrated FAAC radio receiver, Damaged or disconnected antenna, Incorrect radio module installed, Corrupted remote programming
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Work with power off when handling internal electronics. Keep remotes away from children during testing.
- Check antenna: Locate the FAAC antenna wire or external antenna module. Ensure it is connected firmly to the receiver terminal and not cut or coiled tightly around metal parts.
- Verify receiver module: If your opener uses a plug-in FAAC radio card (e.g., XF or similar), remove and reseat the module. Inspect for bent pins or corrosion.
- Reprogram remotes: Follow the FAAC instructions to enter learning mode (press the radio learn button on the board) and add a remote. If the learn LED does not respond, the receiver may be faulty.
- Test range: Try operating the door from close to the opener. If it works only at very short range, the antenna or receiver sensitivity is compromised.
- Replace receiver module: If E7 persists and no remotes can be learned, install a compatible FAAC radio receiver or an external universal receiver connected to the push-button input.
Do not open sealed radio modules; replacement is more reliable than component-level repair.
