Possible Causes
Obstructed door travel, Incorrect limit switch configuration, Door too heavy for selected FAAC model, Programming sequence interrupted
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before mechanical checks. Ensure the door path is clear.
- Clear all obstructions: Remove any items near the door, tracks, and header. Check for locking devices or manual bolts that may be engaged.
- Verify correct model settings: On the FAAC control board, confirm that the correct operator type and door size are selected according to the manual.
- Reset programming: Perform a full reset of travel limits as described in the FAAC documentation (often holding PROG/SET for several seconds until LEDs indicate reset).
- Run manual test: Disconnect the opener and move the door by hand to ensure it can travel fully open and closed without binding.
- Repeat learning cycle: Reconnect the opener, restore power, and start the auto-set procedure again without interruption. Do not operate remotes or wall buttons during the learning cycle.
If E8 recurs at the same position, the door hardware or opener capacity may be inadequate and should be evaluated by a professional.
