Possible Causes
Emergency release lever left in disengaged position, Worn FAAC trolley carriage, Broken drive pawl, Misadjusted release cord
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure the door is fully closed or securely propped before re-engaging the opener.
- Check emergency release: Locate the red (or colored) release cord on the FAAC rail. Make sure the lever is in the engaged position as shown in the manual. Pull the cord toward the opener or door as specified to re-latch.
- Slide trolley: Move the door manually until the trolley aligns with the opener carriage. Some FAAC models auto-reconnect when the opener is run.
- Inspect trolley: Examine the FAAC trolley carriage for broken plastic parts or missing locking pawls. Replace the trolley if damaged.
- Test operation: Run the opener. The trolley should now pull the door. If the chain/belt moves but the trolley slips, the carriage is worn and must be replaced.
Do not tie or tape the release lever in place; it must move freely for emergency operation.
