Possible Causes
Incorrect mains voltage (e.g., 110V on 230V unit), Weak capacitor on single-phase FAAC motor, Partial winding failure, Undersized extension cord or supply cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Only qualified persons should test mains voltage. Disconnect power before opening the unit.
- Verify supply voltage: Measure mains voltage at the opener and confirm it matches the FAAC rating plate.
- Inspect motor capacitor: On single-phase motors, locate the start/run capacitor. If bulged or leaking, replace with the exact capacitance and voltage rating.
- Check wiring size: Ensure the supply cable is of adequate gauge and not excessively long or run through multiple adapters.
- Test with door disconnected: If the motor is still weak with no load, the motor windings may be failing and the motor should be replaced.
Do not continue to operate a weak motor; it may overheat and fail completely.
