Possible Causes
Lock button on wall console engaged, Child lock feature active, Stuck lock switch on console, Misinterpreted status indication
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the door area is clear before disabling any lock features.
Steps to disable lock mode:
- 1. Identify lock button: On many Stanley wall consoles, there is a LOCK or VACATION button or a small slide switch.
- 2. Toggle lock: Press and hold the lock button for 3–5 seconds, or move the slide switch to the OFF or unlocked position. The LED pattern should change to steady or off.
- 3. Test door: Press the main door button. The opener should now respond. If not, cycle the lock button again.
- 4. Inspect console: If the lock LED will not turn off, the switch may be stuck. Remove the console from the wall, disconnect the wires, and test the opener by briefly touching the two wall control wires together at the opener terminals. If the door runs, replace the wall console.
