1 FLASH

Opener will not run; wall button and remotes do nothing; courtesy light may be on; diagnostic LED on logic board flashes once repeatedly.

Photo Eye Obstruction or Misalignment

2 FLASHES

Door will not close from remote; opener clicks but reverses or will not move; diagnostic LED on logic board flashes twice repeatedly.

Safety Sensor Circuit Open or Shorted

3 FLASHES

Opener runs briefly then stops and reverses; door may move a few inches and return to open; diagnostic LED flashes three times repeatedly.

Down Travel Limit or Force Error

4 FLASHES

Opener will not move the door; motor hums briefly then stops; diagnostic LED flashes four times repeatedly.

Motor Overload or Stalled Motor

5 FLASHES

Opener stops mid-travel and reverses; sometimes runs only a short distance; diagnostic LED flashes five times repeatedly.

Up Travel Limit or Force Error

6 FLASHES

Opener will not respond to remote controls; wall button may still operate the door; diagnostic LED flashes six times repeatedly.

Radio Receiver or Antenna Fault

7 FLASHES

Opener does not respond to wall button; remotes may still work; diagnostic LED flashes seven times repeatedly.

Wall Control Circuit Fault

8 FLASHES

Opener runs but courtesy light does not turn on, or stays on constantly; diagnostic LED flashes eight times repeatedly.

Courtesy Light Circuit Fault

9 FLASHES

Opener will not run; diagnostic LED flashes nine times repeatedly; sometimes accompanied by a burning smell previously.

Logic Board Power Supply Fault

BLINKING SAFETY SENSOR LED

One of the Stanley safety sensors has a blinking LED while the other is solid or off; door will not close from remote unless wall button is held.

Safety Sensor Misalignment or Polarity Error

REMOTE LED FLASHES, NO DOOR MOVEMENT

Remote control LED lights when pressed, but the Stanley opener does not run; no change in opener lights or sounds.

Lost Remote Programming or Incompatible Remote

STEADY LED, NO RESPONSE

Diagnostic LED on the Stanley opener is solid (no flashing), but the opener does not respond to wall button or remotes.

Microcontroller or Logic Lockup

WALL CONSOLE LED FLASH PATTERN

Stanley multi-function wall console LED flashes in a repeating pattern and the door will not move when the main button is pressed.

Wall Console Lock or Vacation Mode Enabled

Symptom

Garage door opener beeps or clicks but does not move the door; no obvious motor sound.

Relay Activation Without Motor Start
