Possible Causes
Corrupted control firmware, Damaged microcontroller on Maxmatic control board, Voltage spike damage, Loose low-voltage harness between sensor and control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the breaker before accessing any control components.
- Power cycle the system: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes to fully discharge the control. Restore power and see if the error clears.
- Inspect control wiring: On digital Maxmatic models, check the low-voltage harness connectors between the control module and any sensors (jam sensor, current sensor). Reseat all plugs firmly.
- Check for moisture: Look for condensation or leaks on the control housing. Dry thoroughly and correct any plumbing leaks above the unit.
- Surge protection: If the error appeared after a storm or surge, the control board may be permanently damaged.
If E06 persists after a full power reset and connector check, the electronic control module will likely need replacement.
