Possible Causes
Misaligned magnetic stopper sensor, Broken sink stopper magnet, Disconnected interlock switch wiring, Failed interlock switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before adjusting any interlock components.
- Check stopper orientation: Ensure the Maxmatic sink stopper is inserted in the correct position and fully seated. Some models require a specific alignment mark.
- Inspect the stopper magnet: Look for cracks or missing magnet segments on the underside of the stopper. Replace the stopper if the magnet is damaged.
- Sensor alignment: Under the sink, locate the magnetic or mechanical interlock sensor near the sink flange. Ensure it is firmly mounted and aligned with the stopper position.
- Wiring check: Verify that the interlock switch wires are securely connected to the control module.
If E14 persists with a known-good stopper and aligned sensor, the interlock switch or sensor module may need replacement.
