Possible Causes
Stuck flow/pressure switch contacts, Shorted flow switch wiring harness, Incorrect flow switch adjustment, Control board input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off power at the GFCI breaker before testing or disconnecting any wires.
- 1. Confirm pump status: Ensure all pumps are off when the error appears. FLC typically means the flow switch is reading 'closed' even though there is no flow.
- 2. Inspect flow switch wiring: Locate the flow/pressure switch on the Coleman heater manifold. Check for pinched, cut, or melted wires. Reseat the connector at the control pack.
- 3. Test the switch (basic check): With power off, disconnect one wire from the flow switch. Restore power briefly. If the FLC code changes to FLO or clears, the switch is likely stuck closed and should be replaced.
- 4. Check for misadjustment: Some mechanical pressure switches have an adjustment screw. If someone has overtightened it, the contacts may stay closed. Back off the screw 1/4 turn and retest. Do not over-adjust; if unsure, replace the switch.
- 5. Control board check: If a new flow switch does not resolve FLC, the input circuit on the Coleman control board may be faulty. This requires board-level diagnosis and replacement by a qualified technician.
