Possible Causes
Normal startup behavior after power restoration, Air in plumbing after refill, User not exiting priming mode
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure all jets are open and the spa is filled before allowing pumps to run in priming mode.
- 1. Allow priming cycle: After turning power on, many Coleman spas enter a priming mode (PRR) to purge air. Let the pumps run and cycle through speeds for several minutes.
- 2. Open jets and bleed air: Turn all jet faces fully open. If pumps are noisy or surging, briefly loosen pump unions to release trapped air, then retighten.
- 3. Exit priming mode: After 4–5 minutes, press the Temp Up or Temp Down button to exit priming and enter normal heating/filtration mode.
- 4. If stuck in PRR: Power cycle the spa. If it repeatedly returns to priming and never exits, the control board or topside may be malfunctioning and should be inspected by a technician.
