Possible Causes
Open or shorted temperature sensor, Corroded sensor connector, Damaged sensor cable, Control board sensor input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before handling sensors or opening the control pack.
- 1. Locate the sensor: On Coleman control packs, Sn1 usually refers to the main water temperature sensor threaded into the heater tube or inserted in a sensor well.
- 2. Inspect wiring: Check the sensor cable for cuts, abrasions, or rodent damage. Ensure the plug is fully seated on the control board and free of corrosion.
- 3. Reseat the connector: Unplug the sensor from the board, inspect the pins, then plug it back in firmly. Restore power and see if the error clears.
- 4. Replace the sensor: If Sn1 persists, replace the temperature sensor with a Coleman-compatible part. Turn off power, unscrew or pull the old sensor, quickly install the new one to minimize water loss, and reconnect to the board.
- 5. Control board check: If a new sensor does not resolve the error, the sensor input circuit on the control board may be defective and the board will need replacement.
