Possible Causes

Repeated high-limit trips, Stuck heater relay, Severely restricted flow, Failed high-limit sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Allow the spa to cool and disconnect power before working on it.

  • Cool down: Remove the cover and let the spa cool to below 100°F (38°C).
  • Inspect filters and flow: Clean or replace MAAX filters and verify strong circulation flow.
  • Check for stuck relay: With power off, a technician can test the heater relay on the control board for welded contacts that keep the heater on.
  • Reset power: After cooling and correcting flow issues, restore power and monitor operation.
  • Replace components: If HLoH recurs, replace the high-limit sensor and, if necessary, the control board to correct relay issues.
