Possible Causes

Shorted pressure switch contacts, Misadjusted pressure switch, Wiring short, Control board input fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Warning: A stuck-closed pressure switch can allow unsafe heater operation. Do not bypass this safety device.

  • Power off: Turn off the spa at the breaker.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the pressure switch wires for shorts or melted insulation.
  • Test switch: Disconnect one wire from the pressure switch and measure continuity across the switch with a multimeter. With no pump running, the switch should be open (no continuity).
  • Adjust or replace: If the switch is closed with no flow, adjust the set screw (if adjustable) or replace the switch with a MAAX-approved part.
  • Board check: If a new switch behaves the same, the control board input may be shorted and require replacement.
