Possible Causes
Failed thermistor sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector on control board, Damaged sensor cable, Sensor not fully seated in the MAAX heater well
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the control pack or heater.
- Locate the sensor: In most MAAX Spas, the water temperature sensor (thermistor) is threaded into the heater tube or inserted into a sensor well.
- Check connections: Open the equipment bay and verify the sensor plug is firmly seated on the control board and free of corrosion.
- Inspect cable: Look for cuts, rodent damage, or pinched sections along the sensor wire.
- Reseat sensor: If the sensor is in a dry well, remove it, wipe off any moisture or corrosion, and reinsert fully. Use a small amount of thermal compound if recommended by MAAX.
- Power cycle: Restore power and see if Sn1 clears. If the error returns, the sensor resistance is likely out of range.
- Replace sensor: Install a MAAX-compatible temperature sensor/thermistor, matching the original part number. Do not substitute with non-rated sensors.
