Possible Causes

Stuck flow switch contacts in heater manifold, Shorted flow switch wiring harness, Incorrect flow switch orientation or installation, Control board misreading flow circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before working in the equipment bay.

  • 1. Power cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 1–2 minutes, then ON. If FLC clears and does not return, it may have been a transient glitch.
  • 2. Inspect flow switch wiring: Locate the flow switch on the heater manifold. Follow its wires to the control board. Check for pinched, cut, or melted insulation and ensure the connector is fully seated.
  • 3. Check for debris: With power OFF and water level lowered if necessary, remove the flow switch from the plumbing. Inspect the paddle or plunger for scale, debris, or damage that could cause it to stick closed. Clean gently and reinstall in the correct flow direction.
  • 4. Test continuity: Using a multimeter (if you are comfortable and qualified), test the flow switch contacts with no flow. They should be open. If they remain closed, the switch is defective.
  • 5. Replace flow switch: Install a new PDC Spas-compatible flow/pressure switch, ensuring correct orientation and sealing. Reconnect wiring and restore water level.

Call a technician if: A new flow switch does not resolve FLC. The issue may be on the PDC Spas control board flow circuit.
