Water temperature near freezing detected by sensor, Very low ambient temperature around spa cabinet, Sensor located in cold equipment bay reading low
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not shut off power to the spa in freezing conditions; freeze protection prevents plumbing damage.
- 1. Verify conditions: If outdoor temperatures are near or below freezing, ICE mode is normal. The spa will run pumps automatically to prevent freezing.
- 2. Keep cover on: Ensure the PDC Spas cover is closed and in good condition to retain heat.
- 3. Check water level: Maintain proper water level so pumps do not draw air while running in freeze mode.
- 4. Confirm heating: Make sure the heater is operating and the spa is actually warming. If ICE persists but water does not heat, investigate heater or sensor issues.
Once water temperature rises above the freeze threshold, ICE should clear automatically. If ICE displays in warm weather, the temperature sensor may be faulty and should be replaced.
