PDC Spas
Insufficient heating performance
Spa heats very slowly or cannot reach set temperature, especially in cold weather.

Possible Causes
Partially scaled or failing heater element, Heat loss due to poor PDC Spas cover insulation or cover damage, Circulation pump not running continuously as programmed, Ambient temperature extremely low
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure GFCI protection is present. Turn off power before opening the equipment bay.
- 1. Verify mode and set point: Confirm the spa is in Standard mode and set to your desired temperature.
- 2. Check cover condition: Inspect the PDC Spas cover for waterlogging, tears, or poor seal. Replace if heavy or damaged, as this greatly increases heat loss.
- 3. Confirm circulation: Ensure the circulation pump runs as scheduled and that there is steady flow through the heater.
- 4. Test heater output: Measure water temperature rise over 1–2 hours with the cover on. Minimal or no rise may indicate a weak or partially failed heater element, which should be replaced.
If the spa still cannot reach temperature after addressing cover and heater issues, a technician should check electrical supply (correct voltage) and control pack operation.
