Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before working around water and electrical components.
- 1. Locate the leak: Remove the equipment panel and use a flashlight to trace the source of water while the spa is circulating. Look at heater unions, pump unions, and PVC joints.
- 2. Tighten unions: If water drips from a heater or pump union, gently tighten the union nut by hand, then an additional small turn with a strap wrench. Do not overtighten.
- 3. Replace O-rings: If tightening does not stop the leak, shut power OFF, drain water below the leaking union, and replace the union O-ring with a compatible PDC Spas heater or pump union O-ring.
- 4. Cracked components: If the pump housing or heater tube is cracked, the entire component should be replaced.
Hidden leaks in foam-insulated plumbing away from the equipment bay are more complex and usually require a spa technician to locate and repair.
