Possible Causes

Partially clogged filter, Marginal circulation pump performance, Misadjusted flow/pressure switch, Debris in plumbing restricting flow

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before servicing components.

  • Deep clean filter: Remove the QCA Spas filter cartridge and soak it in a filter cleaning solution per manufacturer directions, then rinse thoroughly. Replace if pleats are collapsed or fabric is torn.
  • Inspect circulation pump: With the equipment bay open, verify the small circulation pump (if equipped) runs quietly and steadily when the spa is in heat/filtration mode. If it is hot to the touch, noisy, or stops and starts, it may be failing.
  • Check for kinks or closed valves: Ensure all slice valves on either side of the pump and heater are fully open. Look for kinked flex hoses or crushed plumbing in the equipment area.
  • Flow switch adjustment: Some QCA Spas flow/pressure switches are adjustable. With power OFF, locate the switch on the heater manifold and note any adjustment screw. Only make small 1/8-turn adjustments and re-test; if the switch requires significant adjustment to work, replace it.
