Possible Causes

Dirty or clogged filter cartridge, Low water level in spa, Air lock in circulation or jet pump, Failed or stuck flow/pressure switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before opening the equipment bay or removing filters. Never run the spa without adequate water covering all jets and suction fittings.

  • Check water level: Ensure the water level is at least halfway up the skimmer opening on your QCA Spas shell. Top off if low and reset power.
  • Clean or remove filter: Remove the filter cartridge from the skimmer or filter well. Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose from top to bottom. For testing, run the spa briefly with the filter removed and power restored. If FLO clears, replace the filter with a new QCA-compatible cartridge.
  • Bleed air from pump: With power OFF, locate the main jet pump and/or circulation pump in the equipment bay. Loosen the pump union on the discharge side slightly until you hear air hiss and see a small amount of water, then retighten. Restore power and see if FLO clears.
  • Check flow/pressure switch: Locate the flow or pressure switch on the heater plumbing (usually a small switch with two wires). With power OFF, inspect for loose or corroded connectors and secure them. If FLO persists after filter cleaning and bleeding air, the switch may be stuck or failed and should be tested with a multimeter and replaced if it does not close when the pump runs.
  • Verify pump operation: Turn power back on and run the jets. Confirm strong water flow from all jets. Weak or no flow may indicate a failing pump or blocked suction.
