Possible Causes
Open heater element, Failed heater relay on control board, Loose heater wiring, Tripped high-limit sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and verify with a non-contact voltage tester before touching wiring.
- Inspect heater wiring: Open the QCA Spas control pack and check that heater wires are tight on the heater terminals and control board.
- Check high-limit: Reset any manual high-limit (if present) by pressing the red button on the heater housing. If it trips repeatedly, investigate flow issues.
- Test heater element: With power OFF and wires removed, measure resistance across the heater terminals. A typical 5.5 kW element at 240 V will read around 10–12 ohms. Infinite or zero ohms indicates a bad element.
- Control board relay: If the heater tests good but never receives power when the heat icon is on, the heater relay on the board may be failed and the control pack may need repair or replacement.
