Possible Causes
Seized pump 1 motor, Blocked impeller, Loose or burnt pump wiring, Control board triac/relay failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before touching the pump or wiring.
- Check for obstructions: With power OFF, remove the pump 1 wet end faceplate if accessible and inspect the impeller for debris (stones, plastic, etc.). Rotate the shaft by hand to ensure it spins freely.
- Inspect wiring and connectors: Verify that the pump 1 wires are firmly connected at both the motor and the control pack, with no signs of overheating or burning.
- Test pump operation: Restore power and briefly run pump 1. If it hums but does not start, the capacitor or motor may be bad and the pump assembly should be serviced or replaced.
- Board fault: If a known-good pump will not run and P1 persists, the control board output for pump 1 may be defective.
