Possible Causes
Stuck flow switch contacts, Shorted flow switch wiring harness, Miswired flow switch at control pack, Control board input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power at the GFCI before working in the equipment bay.
- Step 1 – Power cycle: Turn off power for 5 minutes, then restore. If FLC clears and returns randomly, suspect a sticky flow switch.
- Step 2 – Inspect wiring: Trace the flow switch cable from the switch body to the Vita Spa control pack. Look for pinched, cut, or water-damaged wiring. Repair or replace as needed.
- Step 3 – Check orientation and plumbing: Ensure the flow switch is installed in the correct direction and not installed in a vertical run where debris can hold the paddle closed.
- Step 4 – Test switch: With power off, disconnect the flow switch from the board and test continuity. The switch should be open (no continuity) when there is no flow. If it reads closed, replace the flow switch.
- Step 5 – Control board check: If a known-good flow switch still reads as closed to the board, the control pack input may be shorted. In this case, the control board or entire Vita Spa pack will likely need replacement by a professional.
