Possible Causes
Failed heater element, Stuck open pressure or flow switch preventing heat call, Misconfigured heating mode (Economy/Sleep), Faulty temperature sensor reading high
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before testing heater circuits.
- Step 1 – Check mode and setpoint: Verify the Vita Spa is in Standard mode and the temperature setpoint is higher than current water temperature.
- Step 2 – Observe heater indicator: When the spa calls for heat, a heater icon or indicator LED should light. If not, the control pack may not be enabling the heater due to a sensor or switch issue.
- Step 3 – Test heater element: With power off, disconnect heater leads and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
- Step 4 – Check flow/pressure switch: Verify that the flow or pressure switch closes when the pump runs. Replace if it does not close, as the board will not energize the heater.
- Step 5 – Sensor calibration: If the sensor reads higher than actual water temperature, the spa may think it is already at setpoint. Compare displayed temperature to an external thermometer and replace the sensor if inaccurate.
