Possible Causes
Overheating pump motor, Loose high-current connection at control pack, Failing heater relay, Shorted transformer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Immediately turn off power at the GFCI. Do not continue to run the spa until the source is identified.
- Step 1 – Visual inspection: Open the equipment bay and look for discolored, melted, or charred components, especially around pump motors, heater terminals, and relays.
- Step 2 – Tighten connections: After cooling and with power off, tighten all main power and heater terminal screws.
- Step 3 – Motor check: Spin pump motor shafts by hand; if stiff or noisy, the motor may be failing and drawing excessive current. Replace as needed.
- Step 4 – Replace damaged parts: Any visibly burned wiring, relays, or boards should be replaced. Consider replacing the entire Vita Spa control pack if damage is extensive.
