Possible Causes

Built-in compressor delay timer, High head pressure requiring equalization, User misinterpreting delay as fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: This is usually normal behavior designed to protect the compressor.

Steps:

  • Wait delay period: Most Argo dehumidifiers have a 3–5 minute restart delay after the compressor stops. Wait this period before attempting to restart.
  • Check manual: Confirm in the user manual that a delay is specified.
  • Abnormal delays: If the delay exceeds 10 minutes or the unit never restarts, then investigate other faults such as E5 or E4 codes, or main PCB issues.
